[Papers relating to division of Lincoln County]

The papers relating to the division of the County of Lincoln requested from the Senate, were laid upon the Speakers table - and on motion the House reconsidered their several votes of yesterday nonconcurring the Senate & postponing the papers indefinitely - and now concurred the Senate in their reference thereof to the committee on the formation of Counties &c &c.

[Resolve - Augusta Deed.]

Resolve accepting a deed from Joshua Gage & als, conveying a lot of land for the permanent seat Government - was called up - the vote referring the same reconsidered - 71 pro. 64 con. The Resolve was then amended, - after which the further consideration of the subject was postponed until Wednesday next at 10' oclock.

Mr Smith of Newfield has leave of absence after Monday next.

[Remonstrances]

Remonstrances of Eben Witham Jr & als of Danville - of James Strout & als of Durham - of William Downing & als of Harpswell all against a division of Lincoln County were severally read & referred to the committee on the subject of the formation of a new Counties &c &c
