me the said Perley and the other half[?] by the said State of Maine, that the timber should be rafted by me the said Perley a sufficient distance above the said boom to facilitate in passage through the same and prevent its chocking[choking?] and encumbering the passage by Boom timber now if I the said Perley shall take and so purchase all the timber so bid off[?] by me and my agents and secure and pay for the same to the said State and also for all other timber of said State that may come to my possession by agreement with said Land Agent or his Deputy and perform all the conditions above specified punctually & faithfully in relation to the same And allow the State to suffer no injury by my nonfulfilment of said Conditions, then this Bond shall be null and void; otherwise to remain in full force and virtue

This Certifies that I have this day detained by Order of the Land Agent of the State of Maine the following deserted[?] property to wit
-Thre[three?] bbl[?] of Pork – two bbl[?] of Flour marked DxP
The property of Benjm DeBeck[?] & brother of the province of New Brunswick which property was intended to be used for the purpose of cutting timber upon this river

DeBeck[?] had the following certificate[?] from Thos. E Perley of New Brunswick and no other permission
Benj DeBeck[?] has permission to lumber on three miles part on the Machias Stream of township No 11 in the Seventh range of townships for which timber I have agreed with the land agent of Massachusetts
The three miles to be measured from the Eastern corner

In pursuance of the order of the land agent of the State of Maine I have this day decided the above provisions as intended for the purpose of trespassing, said DeBeck[?] having avowed his intention of putting said provisions to that are in cutting timber on No 11 7th range He having no permission or right so to do nor[?] producing any evidence of permit but that writing of Thos E Perley a [?] of a foreign state
The Evidences[?] of his admission of the facts are S B Patte & Wm. N. Buffam
