Fort Corcoran

Sept 29th 1861

Mr Hichborn

Dear Sir

I have had another talk with Col roberts today cocerning[concerning?] that matter He seems a little [?] to part with us but say under the sircumstances [circumstances] he cannot object if we are replaced by other men He says thare [there] will be no trouble about getting transferred if wee[we?] get the appointments William is very anxious to be promoted He wishes me to say to you that if thare [[there] is any chance he thinks he might as well have it as any boddy [anybody]
