and a Secretary of State. The whole number of Votes given was 155 necessary to a choice 78 Daniel Wood Esqr. had 108 William Chadwick Esqr. " 107 Jonathan Thayer Esqr. " 85 Abraham Morrill Esqr. " 117 Daniel Merrill Esqr. " 126 Elias Stowell Esqr. " 153 Daniel Wilkins Esqr. " 108 and they were severally declared to be duly elected.

The Convention then proceeded to the choice of a Secretary of State.

The whole number of Votes given was 153 Necessary to a choice 77 Amos Nichols Esqr. had 153 and was declared unanimously elected. The two Branches then separated.

[Message from the Governor]

The Secretary of State then came in and laid on the table a written message from the Governor accompanyed [accompanied] by explanitory [explanatory] Documents, which were read and ordered to lie on the table; And

[order for printing the Message]

On motion of Mr. Holland, ordered that the Secretary procure to be printed for the use of the Members of this Board 100 Copies of the Governors message.

[Notice ordered to the Counsellors]

On motion of Mr. Ripley, Ordered that the Secretary of State be directed to notify Daniel Wood, William Chadwick, Jonathan Thayer, Abraham Morrell, Daniel Merrill, Elias Stowell and Daniel Wilkins Esquires, that they have been duly elected
