On motion of Mr Dunlap, Ordered that the Secretary of the Senate be directed to notify Amos Nichols Esqr. that he has been duly elected Secretary of State by both branches of the Legislature for the current year.

Communications were received from William Chadwick, Daniel Wood, Abraham Morrill, and Daniel Merrill, Esquires, signifying their acceptance of the office of Counsellors, and their readiness to be qualified: Which were read and sent down.

On motion of Mr. Dunlap, Ordered that a Message be sent to the House proposing a a convention of the two Branches of the Legislature forthwith, for the purpose of qualifying Daniel Wood, William Chadwick, Abraham Morrell and Daniel Merrill, Esquires, Councillors elect, to advise the Governor in the Executive branch of the Government, for the current political year.

A message was then received from the House concurring in the forgoing proposition.
