On motion of Mr. Kilby of Eastport Ordered that Messrs Kilby of Eastport, Crane of Hope & Moody of Minot be a committee with such as the Senate may join to inquire into the expediency of authorizing towns in this State at their annual meeting to pass votes to tax the owners of dogs in their several Towns - read & passed. On motion of Mr Adams of Portland, Ordered, that the committee on the Judiciary be instructed to inquire and report on the expediency of authorizing the town of Portland to appoint an additional number of Engine-men to the Hydraulic Engine - read & passed. Sent up for concurrence.
