General Orders, Boston, April 17, 1790. [?]

The Commander in Chief having taken into consideration the requests of Major general Lithgow (and having had the advice of Council therefrom) has ordered that the Major-general of the eighth Division be authorized to raise within that Division two Troops of Calvary, and in the first Brigade thereof, one Company of Light-infantry, provided that some of the standing regimental Companies already organized, be reduced thereby to a less number of train-band men, than sixty Privates.
