112 Tuesday January 21st 1834 Met according to adjournment On motion of Mr. Bronson of Anson, Ordered that the Committee on the Judiciary enquire into the expediency of revising or altering an Act entitled an "Act regulating Divorces" and report by Bill or otherwise - read and passed - sent up for concurrence.

An Order was introduced by Mr. Dumont of Hallowell requesting the Governor to communicate to this House if not incompatible with the public interest the Report of the Commissioners who were appointed to meet and confer with those appointed by the President upon the subject of the North Eastern Boundary and on motion of the mover of the Order to lay the same on the table the question was taken by Yeas and Nays and decided n the negative as follows Yeas 48 Nays 109 The order was then refused a passage.

On motion of Mr. Merrow of Bowdoinham Ordered that the Committee on so much of the Governors Message as relates to primary instruction be instructed to enquire whether te provisions of an Act passed February 23d 1828 which provides for the promotion of education has been carried into effect with leave to report the facts to the Legislature - read and passed - sent up for concurrence.
