A message was received from the House informing the Senate that the House had added Messrs Moore of Dover, Dumont of Hallowell, Prince of Turner, Morrill of Westbrook, Pike of Athens and Allen of Lubec on the Joint Select Committee that have under consideration the subject relating to the inspection of Stone Lime and Lime Casks, and instructing said committee to report a statement of facts, and the Senate concurred.

Also informing the Senate that the House have on their part elected Ezekiel Foster, Major General of the Seventh Division of the Militia of this State in lieu of Maj. Gen. Samuel Moore, resigned and requesting the concurrence of the Senate.

Whereupon the Senate assigned tomorrow at ten o'clock for the purpose of electing a Major General for said Division.

The Committee on Engrossed Bills reported as correctly engrossed, Bill to incorporate the Penobscot Bridge, " to annex a part of the Williams College Grant to Houlton, Bill to incorporate the Portland & Cape Elizabeth Coal Company, Bill to incorporate the Portland Mining & Railway Company, Bill to incorporate the Manufacturers Savings Bank and the same were severally passed to be enacted.
