Petition of E.T. Morrill and others, to be incorporated into a company by the name of the Belfast Screw Dock Company, was read and referred to the Committee on Agriculture in concurrence.
petition of the Selectmen of Gilead to raise the toll on Wild River Bridge in said town, was read and referred to the Committee on Turnpikes, Bridges and Canals, in concurrence.
Petition of Gideon Barton and others, " of Jesse Savage and others for a dam across the Kennebec River at Augusta, Remonstrance of the town of Winslow, " of the town of Georgetown against the same, severally read and referred to the Committee that have that subject under consideration, in concurrence.
The report of the Committee on the Judiciary to which was referred an order respecting private attachments, came up from the House, committed to a Joint Select Committee, consisting, on the part of the House, of Messrs Carpenter, Kimball of Portland, Seaver, Corbet, Worcester, Hastings, Dumont, PRince of Turner, Moore of Abbot, and Sylvester of Hope, with such as the Senate may join. The Senate commit the same and Messrs Chandler, Brown and Tobin are joined in concurrence.
