Monday February 16th 1835

Met according to adjournment

An order came from the Senate instructing the committee on the Judiciary to inquire into the expediency of increasing the fees for the attendance of witnesses who shall be summoned to attend Courts holden by Justices of the Peace - and the House concurred.

Report of the Committee on the order of 26 instant in relation to Registers of Probate, was read & accepted in concurrence with the Senate that legislation is inexpedient.

Petition of Deliverance Davis for procuring aid referred in concurrence with the Senate to the committee on State Lands.

Report on the petition of George Hussey, granting an order of notice was read & accepted in concurrence with the Senate.

Bill to provide for the employment & maintenance of the Poor, reported by the committee to whom was referred so much of the Governors Message as relates to Pauperism, was on motion of Mr. Dumont of Hallowell ordered to lie on the table and 500 copies to be printed for the use of the Legislature.

Bill - An Act in addition to an Act to incorporate the Augusta & Bangor Stage Company, was read a 3d time & passed to be engrossed. Sent up for concurrence.
