203 On motion by Mr Scammon of Hall
Ordered, That the committee on the Judiciary, be instructed to inquire to inquire what alternations, if any, ought to be made in the Law, relative to ferries. Sent up for concurrence.
Bill to incorporate the West Branch Boom Company was reported with amendments which were adopted, and 1st and 2nd time and ordered to lie on the table
Bill to incorporate the Hancock Mutual Fire Insurance Company, was read 1st and 2nd time and Monday next at 10 oclock assigned for a 3rd reading
Resolve in favor of the Trustees of the Massachusetts Society for promoting Agriculture, was taken up and assigned for a 2nd reading on Wednesday next at 10 oclock

Ordered, that the joint standing Committee on the Judiciary be instructed to inquire into the expediency of allowing parties, at the disctriton of the court, to testify in their own causes. Sent up for concurrence.

Ordered, That the committee on Literature and Literary Institutions, be directed to inquire into the expediency of reporting a bill for the establishment of a high school in the town of Jefferson - Sent up for concurrence.
