[underlined, bold header] Petition of John Chandler, praying for a law authorizing the United States to hold land in Maine in certain cases, -- read and referred to a Joint Spe- cial Committee, consisting of Messrs. Smith and Barnam with such as the House may join. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred, and Mssrs. Gordon, Vose of [blank] and Gimball are joined.

Petition of William Randall and others for leave to build a Bridge across Muddy River in Topsham, read, and on motion of Mr. Emmons, ordered to lie on the table till the Joint Standing Committees are appointed.

On motion of Mr. Barnard, Ordered that when the Senate adjourn, it be to ten o'clock tomorrow morning, and that that be the standing hour of adjournment until otherwise ordered.
