[upper right corner] 29. Tuesday, January 13, 1835. [underlined bold header] Messrs. Mantor and Green of Somerset ap- peared and were conducted to the Governor Coun- cil, by Mr. Clark, and were qualified according to the Constitution and took their seats at the Sen- ate Board.

Bill authorizing the United States of America to take and hold lands within this State for the pur- post of erecting Lighthouses thereon (reported by Mr Smith from the Joint Special Committee to which was referred the petition of John Chandler was read once and tomorrow at ten o'clock assigned for a second reading.

On motion of Mr. Green of York be instructed to take into consideration the expe- diency of purchasing for the use of the State a suitable number of Copies of the first volume of Fairfield Reports, and report thereon. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred.

The Standing Committees of the Senate were filled as follows, to wit: ON Bills in the second Reading Mr. Mantor; On Engrossed Bills Messrs Greene of Somerset and O'Brien.

Petition of Joseph Stackpole and others praying to be annexed to the town of Albion in the County of Kennebec, -- read and referred to the Committee on Division of Towns. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred.
