On motion of the Purinton Order that the Secretary of the State be Authorized to appoint a suitable person to preform the duties of Assistant Secretary and Oliver C. Guptill was according appointed.

One motion of Mr. Clark ordered that a special message be sent to the Governor and Council informing them that the Senate is duly organized by the election Josiah Renice Esq. President and William Krafton Secretary which message was delivered by Mr. Clark.

Mr. Greene was charged with a similar message to the House of Representatives.

On motion of Mr. Purinton ordered that the Secretary of Senate prepare 24 tickets with numbers corresponding with the numbers of the respective seats of the Senate Board one, two, Twenty-four, twenty-eight, twenty-nine, and Thirty and that each member draw one of said tickets and take such seat that shall be numbered on said ticket and occupy the same during the session unless otherwise agreed to by the President.

The Secretary of State came in laid on the table a list of votes given in several towns and Plantations in the State for Senators and the same motion of Mr. Talbot were referred to a select Committee consisting of Masons, Talbot, Jarvis, Stanley, Fish, Mantor, Robinson, Swift, Meeks, Hewett and Greene.
