183.

A message was received from the House of Representatives that they had, on their part, elected Benjamin Burgess, Major General for the fourth Division of the Militia of this State to fill the vacancy occasioned by the resignation of Maj. General A.B. Thompson, and the concurrence of the Senate requested.

On motion of Mr. Purinton, Ordered, that eleven o'clock A.M on Monday next, the 15th instant, be assigned for the choice of a Major General, on the part of the Senate, to fill the vacancy that now exists in the fourth Division of the Militia of this State, in consequence of the resignation of Major General A.B. Thompson; and also, for the choice of a Major General to fill the vacancy that now exists in the eighth Division of the Militia of this State, in consequence of the resignation of Major General Samuel P. Strickland -- read and passed.
