Bill to incorporate the Maine Episcopal Missionary Society was, on motion of Mr. Bartlett, taken up, who propsed to amend said Bill by adding at the end of the first section, the words, and the funds of said Society shall be subject to taxtation -- and the question of adopting said amendment, being ordered to be taken by yeas and nays, was decided in the negative as follows, to wit:

YEAS, Messrs Bartlett, Brown, Clark, Fish, F. Greene, Latham, Manter, Miller, McIntire, Smith & Tobin. 11.

NAYS, Messrs Allen, Barnard, Burnham, Emmons, Farnham, C. Greene, McLellan, O'Brien, Pierce, Prescott and Read ________________ 11.

And said Bill, on motion of Mr. Emmons, was laid upon the table.
