374 Resolve in favor of South Berwick Academy, (severally introduced in the House) read and referred to the committee on Literature and Literary Institutions in concurrence.

Bill additional respecting Innholders, Retailers and Common Victuallers, -"- to authorize the United State and this State to subscribe for certain stocks (severally introduced in the House) read and referred to the Committee on the Judiciary in concurrence.

Mr. Jewett, from the Committee on Incorporation of Towns, reported leave to withdraw on remonstrance of Willian L. Mitchell and other -- read and accepted. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred.

The Committee on Interior Waters reported reference to next Legislature on petition of Stephen Parlin and other -- read and accepted in concurrence.

Other from the House of Representatives, instructing the Committee on the Judiciary to inquire into the expediency of so changing the appropriation of the forfeitures and penalties for the violation of the license law; and also the law requiring towns to maintain pounds that such penalties as now accrue to the towns themselves shall be paid to the County -- read and passed in concurrence.

Resolve in favor of the Belfast and Quebec Rail Road was further considered. Mr. Purington moved to amend the following amendment, adopted by the House to wit: "provided said Corporations shall refund the same to the State in three years after
