Deer Isle August 6th 1862.

Dr Sir. I find here Chas H Noyes a Private Co (A) 14th Reg. Claims to be absent by reason of Discharge his discharge papers he says are in the hands of Maj Watson Boston Mass says his discharge is signed by Maj Gardiner Augusta. and Discharged May 6 1862 by reason of Surgeons Certificate of disability: is well and able to work. David T Warren, a Sergeant Co (A) 14th Reg. claims to be absent by reason of discharge. said Discharge is dated New Orleans June 24 1862. "by reason of Surgeons certificate of disease of throat + Lungs." signed by F.S. Nickerson Col Comdg and app[?] order of Maj Gen Butler By R G David Capt A.A.A.G.
