I Ephraim Haynes previous to my receiving a Pension had annually for about eight year past assistance towards my support from my son - I have had no settlement with kind nor do I think he will distress me therefor - but from the best estimate in my power I calculate the amount of his claims exceeds the sum of one hundred + fifty Dollars besides which I owe several small debts amounting to some thing over thirty Dollars - Being troubled with the asthma which is exceedingly bad + troublesome I am disabled by a Rupture which with the natural infirmities of old age totally disqualifies me for all labour - I can contribute nothing for my support Ephraim Haynes[signature] Trenton July 1, 1820 we the undersigned inhabitants of Trenton having been called to appraise the goods + estate of Ephraim Haynes of Trenton do hereby certify that the same is justly appraised at the sum of two hundred twenty three dollars + fifty cents Ephraim Haynes Elisha Cousins
