I Amos Gordon of Garland in the county of Penobscot and commonwealth of Massachusetts being a Native citizen of the United States do on oath certify and declare, that I served as a private Soldier in the War of the Revolution in the New Hampshire line for the period of nine months. That from my reduced circumstances in life I an in need of assistance from my country for support-- I inlisted into Capt Timothy Climmons company in Col Starks Regt some time the latter part of the year 1775 for [?] months. I was stationed in Medford during that period. In June or July 1776 I again inlisted into the same company and Regiment for the period of five months and marched to Portsmouth in New Hampshire. I served that period on Newcastle Island. In the month of June 1777 I again inlisted for two months into Capt Joshua Baileys Company in Col Thomas Stickneys Regt in Gnl Starks Brigade. I marched to Bennington where I was at the time of the battle at that place - after which I marched to Bemises heights where I was discharged - I do not recollect of ever having a discharge in Writing -
