[Stamped upper left] RECEIVED A.G.O. DEC 9 1940

LLOYD H. STITHAM ATTORNEY- AT-LAW P.O. BOX 333, TEL. 59-12 PITTSFIELD, MAINE

Dec. 7, 1940

Office of Adjutant General, Augusta, Maine.

Attention Intelligence Section.

Gentlemen:

It has been reported to me by the Chief of Police for the Town of Pittsfield that in talking with a student from the Academy at Dover-Foxcroft it is felt that the principal of the Academy is teaching subversive matters in his class- rooms. I don't know the man personally and as it is out of my jurisdiction I cannot investigate, and I am returning it to you for what value it may be. It would seem that if this is true something should be done about it.

The same officer reports over-hearing a conversation concerning a man living and known in Palmyra as Turkey Jones, who seems to arouse the ire of some of his neighbors by his conversation. I believe I can get more information on him and will try and do so.

Very truly yours,

Lloyd H. Stitham
