[Governors Message]

Message from the Governor. [respecting deed tendered by Augusta &c See appendix page 224.] The foregoing message referred in Senate to Messrs Small & Wilkins came down for concurrence and the House concurred and Messrs Hobbs, Bonny and Sheppard were joined.

[Herring fishery]

Ordered that the committee on Interior fisheries be instructed to enquire what, (if any) alterations are necessary to be made in the several acts now in force regulating the taking of herrings in the Rivers & harbours of this State. - read & passed.

Petitions of Rufus Richardson to be allowed compensation for attending a Court Martial - of Samuel H King for same - of Phinehas Morse for name - of Simeon Chipman for same - of Seneca Pratt for same - of Daniel Noble for same - of George King for same came from the Senate referred to the committee on accounts for concurrence - and the house concurred.

Petition of William D Williamson & als which was in this House on the 14th inst referred to the committee on Turnpikes, & came back from the Senate nonconcurred & referred to the Committee on State lands - and the House concurred

Petition of Ripley for leave to sell ministerial lands - of Selectmen of Milburn for the appointment of Trustees of the fund received from Canaan on division - of Thomas S Abbot & others proprietors of Stage between Portland and Conway were read & referred to the committee on the incorporation of Parishes & other religious Societies &c &c. Sent up for concurrence.

[Bill - warrants issued by Justices of the Peace.]

Bill further regulating the proceedings upon warrants issued by Justices of the Peace - was read 1 & 2d time & tomorrow at ten oclock assigned for a 3d reading.
