[Petition -]

Petition of Joseph Griffin to be remunerated for printing the Laws in 1821. were read & referred to Messrs Merrill of Brunswick, Parker & Farrington.

[Bond of Treasurer -]

A communication was received from Elias Thomas Esqr transmitting a bond to the State for the faithful discharge of his duties as Treasurer, which was referred to Messrs Isaac Adams, Russell & Nowell.

[Report of Commissioners under Act of separation - as to management of Public Lands -]

The Commissioners under the act of separation, on the subject of the management and disposal of State lands agreeably to a Resolve of February 8th 1823 made a detailed report, - which in Senate was referred to the committee on state lands & ordered to be printed & sent down for concurrence - The House concurred.

[Petition of Joseph Paine 3d]

Petition of Joseph Paine 3d for leave to change his name, was read & referred to the committee on change of names.

[Resolve - Heman Nye]

Resolve in favor of Heman Nye - was read once & monday next at 10 oclock assigned for a 2d reading.

[Resolve - Levi Thaxter]

Resolve on the petition of Levi Thaxter, was read & passed in concurrence with the Senate.

Ordered that the Senate be requested to send to this House the petition of Elias Gove on their files of last year - read & passed.

[Committee - poor debtors who are paupers]

An order came from the Senate instructing the committee on New trials to enquire into the expediency of passing a law explanatory to that part of the act for the relief of poor debtors which relates to Paupers who may be committed to prison, for concurrence & the House concurred.
