[Order concerning Petitions]

On motion of Mr. Stebbins, Ordered that no Petition of a private nature be received by the Legislature after the 22d. of the present month. Sent down for concurrence and came up concurred.

[Order concerning meetings and adjournment &c]

On motion of Mr. Green, Ordered that when the Senate adjourn, they adjourn to meet on monday next at 10 O clock in the morning, and after monday next, the Senate will have but one session each day which shall commence at nine O clock in the forenoon until the further order of the Senate.

A message was sent to the House requesting them to send up the order of the Senate on so much of the Governors Message as relates to Gen. Lafayett.

[Committee on fence round the Arsenal]

Order of the House that Messrs. Spring, Richardson & Hatch be a Committee with such as the Senate may join, to take into consideration the expediency of building a proper fence round the State Arsenal in Portland, and making such other improvements as may be found necessary for the security of the public property, came up for concurrence, was read, concurred and Messrs. Dunn and Southwick were joined.

[Committee on requesting a Visit from Genl. Layfayette]

Order of the House that Messrs. Fessenden, Boutelle, Goodenow, Williams, Talbot, Treat, Hall McCobb and Cummings, be a Committee with such as the Senate may join, to consider the expediency of authorizing the Governor of the State to extend to Gen. Lafayette a request to visit this State before he shall leave the United States, and that the expenses of such visit be paid by the State, with leave
