An order came from the Senate appointing Messrs Green and Parsons with such as the House may join a committee to employ a person to draft and copy Bills & Resolves during the present session of the Legislature, for concurrence - and the House concurred & Messrs Dunn of Poland, Hodgman of Warren, & Hobson of Buxton were joined

An order came from the Senate appointing Messrs Holland, Campbell & Fairbanks with such as the House may join a committee to wait on Albion K Parris Esquire and inform him that he has been elected Governor of the State of Maine for the ensuing political year agreeably to the provisions of the Constitution and that the Senate and House of Representatives will convene in the Representatives Chamber to qualify him for the discharge of the duties of that office agreeably to the Constitution whenever it may be convenient for him to attend for that purpose, for concurrence - and the House concurred and Messrs Goodenow of Alfred, Williams of Augusta, Talbot of Machias, Pike of Bridgton & Pitts of Belgrade were joined

An order came from the Senate for concurrence providing for the appointment of a standing joint committee to be denominated the Committee on Literature & Literary Institutions - and the House concurred.

Mr Goodenow of Alfred from the committee on the part of the House, appointed to wait on the Governor & inform him of his election &c. reported that the committee had attended to the duty assigned them and that the Governor was pleased to say he would attend forthwith in the Representatives Chamber for the purpose of being qualified agreeably to the provisions of the Constitution.
