convention of both branches forthwith in the Representatives Chamber for the purpose of qualifying Albion K Parris Esquire Governor elect, agreeably to the provisions of the Constitution - and the House concurred and the Clerk was charged with a message to acquaint the Senate therewith.
Agreeably to assignment the two branches of the Legislature assembled in the Representatives chamber, when Albion K Paris Esquire Governor elect, attended by the Council Secretary & Treasurer of State & preceeded [preceded] by the Sheriff of Cumberland, came in and took and subscribed the oaths a [and] declarations required by the Constitution to qualify him to enter upon the discharge of the duties of his office - and the Secretary of State made public proclamation accordingly and called upon all the officers civil & military and all the citizens of the State of Maine to respect him as such.
The Committee to receive & examine the returns of members &c. reported that all the persons whose names are borne on the Schedule A are duly returned; that John Storer & Walter P Carpenter are both returned from the district of Dixfield, Weld, Mexico, Peru & Plantation No 4 - Although said district is entitled to but one Representative, and that the subject of their election be referred to the Committee on Elections - The report was read & accepted - and the foregoing papers referred accordingly to the committee on elections.

An order came from the Senate appointing Messrs Dunlap and Parsons of Lincoln a committee with such as the House may join to wait upon the Governor & inform
