Monday January 10th 1825

Met according to adjournment.

Mr Towne of Kennebunkport obtained leave of absence for two days.

Ordered that the Committee on Interior fisheries be instructed to enquire what alterations or additions are necessary in the laws regulating the fisheries in Piscataqua River, with leave to report by Bill or otherwise - read & passed. Sent up for concurrence.

Petitions, of Artemas Leonard & als for a Bank at Hallowell - - of Jacob McGaw & als for a Bank at Bangor - - of Casco Bank for an increase of its capital stock - were read & referred to the Committee on Banks & Banking - Sent up for concurrence.

The Report of the Committee of Elections on the subject of the election of Walter P Carpenter &c &c . was taken up & considered and after some discussion accepted - & thereupon it was Ordered, that Walter P Carpenter was duly & legally elected & returned a representative to this House from the class composed of the towns of Mexico, Weld & Peru in the County of Oxford and that he be authorized to take his seat therein - read and passed.

Ordered that the committee on the Pay Roll be directed to make up John Storer who was returned a member of this House from the district of Mexico, Weld, Peru &c & whose seat has been vacated, for his travel & attendance up to & including this day - read & passed.

On motion of M Carpenter, Ordered that the committee on New trials be instructed to enquire into the expediency of annexing plantation numbered four in the County of Oxford
