Met according to adjournment.

Petition of Benjamin Weld & als for an alteration of the law regulating Mills & Mill Owners, was read & referred to Messrs Williams of Augusta Spring of Saco, & Merrill of Brunswick

Ordered that the vote of the 10th inst. assigning Monday next at 11 o'clock for the choice of a Major General for the 8th Division be reconsidered, & that Tuesday next at 10 o'clock be assigned for that purpose. Read and passed.

Petitions of John Gleason & als of Thomaston for a Bank at that place - - of R. C. Johnson & als for a Bank at Belfast - were read & referred to the Committee on Banks & Banking. Sent up for concurrence.

The Committee on Engrossed Bills reported as duly engrossed - Resolve - providing for the appointment of Commissioners to confer with the Directors of the American Asylum respecting Deaf & Dumb &c - for purchasing Greenleafs Reports, which were severally finally passed. Sent up for concurrence.

The Committee to whom was referred the annual report of the Treasurer and his account of receipts & expenditures the past year, reported that they find the entries properly made and vouched and the same in all its parts correct - The report accepted in Senate came down for concurrence and the House concurred.

Petition of William Allen, President of Bowdoin College for pecuniary aid, &c referred in Senate to the Committee on Literature & Literary Institutions, came down for concurrence, and the House concurred.
