to enquire as to the expediency of authorizing and directing the Commissioners on the part of this State, to request those on the part of Massachusetts to divide four ranges of townships of the public Lands lying North of the ninth & fourth range - Sent up for concurrence.

A second Deed from Joshua Gage & als of Augusta conveying unconditionally a site for the public buildings, to the State was presented, read, and with the papers connected with the other deeds heretofore presented, referred to Messrs McCobb of Phipsburg, Bonney of Turner, Allen of Norridgewock, McKown of Boothbay & Talbot of Machias.

Bill to incorporate the Canal Bank, was read a 3d time and after much discussion thereon, was ordered to be laid on the table until tomorrow.

Adjourned until tomorrow at nine oclock.
