Bill - additional to the several Acts respecting Highways - - additional to an act entitled an act directing the method of laying out & making provision for the repair of Highways - supplementary to act directing the method of laying out and making provision for the repair & amendment of Highways were severally referred to Messrs Redington of Vassalboro, Clark of Hallowell & Patten of Hermon with instructions to incorporate the subjects matter of said Bills into one Bill & giving them general powers of amendment.

Bill - to incorporate the Mutual Fire Insurance Company of Wiscasset - was read a third time & passed to be engrossed in concurrence.

Bill - to set off a part of the town of Alfred and annex the same to the town of Sanford, was read a third time & passed to be engrossed in concurrence with the Senate.

Resolve relating to Public Treats on days of election laid on the table by Mr Williams of Readfield, was read & passed to be engrossed. Sent up for concurrence.

Bill - providing for the promotion of Education, was reported with amendments which were adopted, read a third time & passed to be engrossed. Sent up for concurrence

Resolve authorizing the Penobscot Tribe of Indians to sell Nicatan Island, was read a second time & passed to be engrossed in concurrence with the Senate.

An order came from the Senate directing the Secretary of State to notify the Governor that Gov. Joseph Chandler of Augusta has been elected, by the concurrent vote of the two branches of the Legislature Major General of the second Division of the Militia of this State - and the House concurred.
