[Bill to incorporate Alfred Academy] Bill to incorporate the Alfred Academy came from the House indefinitely postponed, the Senate reconsidered their former vote, amend this bill by striking out the seventh section and passed the same to be engrossed as thus amended. Sent down for concurrence.

[Resolve referred to next Legislature] Mr. Grover had leave to lay on the table Resolve relative to imprisonment for debt, read and referred to the next Legislature. Sent down for concurrence.

[Bill additional to establish the Cum. & O. Canal Corporation] Bill in further addition to an Act to establish the Cumberland and Oxford Canal Corporation came from the House referred to the Committee on Turnpikes &c for concurrence and the Senate concurred.

[Bills enacted] Mr. Page from the Committee on Engrossed Bills reported the following to be truly copied viz. Bill additional to the several acts for the regulation of Inn holders, Retailers and Common Victuallers, "ceding to the United States the jurisdiction of a certain tract of land in the town of Castine, "to incorporate the Ellsworth Mutual Fire Insurance Company, "to incorporate the Maine Congregational Charitable Society, "additional to establish the Cumberland & Oxford Canal Corporation, "to incorporate the Somerset Mutual Fire Insurance Company, and Bill limiting the tenure of office of the Adjutant General and the same were severally passed to be enacted. And then Bills were presented to the Governor for his approbation and signature.
