Met according to adjournment

A Message was received from the Senate informing the House that they had reconsidered their vote whereby they passed to be engrossed Bill incorporating the East Machias and Machias Port Bridge requesting the concurrance [concurrence] of the House and a return of the Bill and papers The House reconsider their vote whereby they assigned this day for a 2d. Reading also their vote whereby they gave the same a first reading and the Clerk returned the Bill and papers in concurrance [concurrence] with the Senate by Message

On Motion of Mr. Dumont of Hallowell Ordered that the Committee on Banks and Banking be instructed to enquire whether any Banks in this State have forfeited their charters by demanding and receiveing [receiving] on loans of money a percentage over and above that prescribed and regulated by the existing laws and also whether any Banking Corporation has openly or covertly set at defiance either the letter or spirit of the laws regulating the same and the Committees have power to send for persons and papers sent up for concurrance [concurrence]


On Motion of Mr. Heaton of Washington Ordered that the Committee on the Judiciary be instructed to enquire into the expediency of altering or amending the Law secureing [securing]
