The President announced the appointment of the following Standing Committees of the Senate Viz. On Bills in the second reading. Messrs. Green, Purinton, Farnham, McLellan, Tobin, Bartlett, Messrs. Allen, Burnham, McIntire, Latham, Reed.

On Engrossed Bills. Messrs. Clark, Smith, Emmons, Randall, Brown, Messrs. Fish, Chandler, Barnard, Miller, Prescott.

Ordered on motion of Mr. Prescott, that when the Senate adjourn it be to meet again at three o'clock in the afternoon.

Ordered, on motion of Mr. Randall, that a Committee be appointed to select one regular officiating Minister of the Gospel of each denomination in the town of Augusta, and request them to officiate in rotation as Chaplains at this Board; - which was read, and on motion of Mr. Prescott, ordered to lie on the table till tomorrow ten o'clock.
