Order from the House of Representatives appointing Messrs Jewett of Portland, Small of Machias Port, and Mowry of Lubec, with such as the Senate may join, a Committee to consider (if any) what alterations are necessary in the inspection laws now in force in this State, and especially as they relate to the inspection of butter, lard and mackerel with leave to report by bill or otherwise - read and passed and Messrs. Clark, Randall and Greene of Somerset are joined in concurrence.
Order from the House of Representatives directing the Committee on the Judiciary to inquire into the expediency of so amending the "Act concerning Foreign Attachment" that trustees to whom property is pledged, or who may have any lien upon such, either by pledge, mortgage or otherwise, without the right of selling it, may be charged therefor, - read and passed in concurrence.
Order from the House of Representatives instructing the Committee on the Judiciary to inquire whether the Managers of the Lottery, granted by an Act entitled "An Act granting a Lottery to encourage Steam Navigation in this State," passed March 7, 1826, have complied with the provisions of said Act, whether they have raised the sum authorized by said Act, and if so, or if they have not complied with the provisions of said act, to provide by law for prohibiting the sale of lottery tickets and the drawing of any classes within the State, and report by bill or otherwise read and passed, in concurrence.
