Bill to incorporate the Augusta High School was, on motion of Mr Emmons, taken up and amended, and the same was passed to be engrossed as amended. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred.

Bill repealing part of an Act providing for the promotion of education (reported by Mr Barnard from the Joint Select Committee, on an order relative to money received by the State on account of the claims of Massachusetts for services rendered by the Militia during the last war &c) was read once, and the same, on motion of Mr Smith, was ordered to lie on the table and that four hundred copies of said Bill and Report be printed for the use of the Legislature

Bill additional directing the method of laying out and making provision for the repair and amendment of highways was, on motion of Mr Randall taken up and committee [committed] to Messrs. Randall, Clark and Fish.

Bill in addition to an Act to incorporate the Georges' Insurance Company came up from the House amended. The Senate reconsider their vote passing said Bill to be engrossed, adopt the amendment proposed by the House, and pass the same to be engrossed as amended, in concurrence.
