Wednesday, January 25, 1839.

Order from the House of Representatives, instructing the Committee on Interior Fisheries, to inquire what alterations are expedient in the several Acts for protecting the Salmon, Shad and Alewive Fisheries in Penobscot River and Bay and their tributary Waters - read and passed, in concurrence.

In Convention.

The two Houses, in accordance with assignment, met in convention for the purpose of electing Treasurer of State for the current political year. Messrs. Woodman and Maqoure [?] of the Senate, and Messrs. Hunt of Gorham, Chase of Camden and McLellan of Eastport of the House were appointed a Committee to receive, sort and count the votes - who having attended to the duties assigned them, reported that the whole number of votes given in was 164. Necessary to a choice 83. Asa Redington Junr had 156. Alfred Pierce -"- 6. Charles Fox -"- 1. R.O.J. [?] Smith -"- 1. and six Clerks. Asa Redington Junr was declared duly elected Treasurer of State for the current political year - and the Convention separated.
