Courts. Created by R.S. 1903, c. 65, § 43. Repealed and replaced and name changed to Commission on Probate Rules and Blanks by P.L. 1955, c. 323, § 1.
Duties--make new rules and blanks, or amendments to existing rules and blanks, whenever necessary for the courts of probate and insolvency.
Members--3 judges and 2 registers of probate appointed by the Governor.
Additional information--appointed at any time upon request in writing of a majority of judges of courts of probate and insolvency.

Duties--conduct continuous study of the organization, rules and methods of procedure and practice of the judicial system of the State, the work accomplished, and the results produced by that system and its various parts.
Members--Attorney General, 2 Justices of Superior Court, 2 Judges of District Court, 1 Judge of a Probate Court, 1 Clerk of Judicial Courts, 2 members of the bar, 3 laymen, all appointed by the Governor with advice and consent of Council. Membership changed by P.L. 1965, c. 240, to include Chief Justice of Supreme Judicial Court as Chairman, Attorney General, Chief Judge of District Court, Dean of University of Maine School of Law, ex-officio; an active or retired Justice of Supreme Judicial Court, 2 Justices of Superior Court, 1 Judge of District Court, 1 Judge of a Probate Court, 1 Clerk of Judicial Courts, 2 members of the bar, 3 laymen, appointed by the Governor with advice and consent of Council.
