[?] of Sale of Timber on the Aroostook July 13 1839

Amount to be secured by notes or bonds with good security the responsible [?] at least to be a [?] of Maine the third of the purchase money to be paid when the timber passes the boom the other two thirds in ninety days To be struck[?] off to the highest bidder but no bid to be received unless above three dollars per ton

The timber to be measured by some person appointed by the Land Agent or his deputy at the boom or before it arrives there The[?] usual mode of measurement to be followed as to nancy[?] edges The timber to be measured in the condition it may be in when measured and no allowance made for [?] to which it may be liable after it passes the boom

Should there be any disagreement about the admeasurement made as above[?] the timber may remeasured by Zebulon Ingersoll of Houlton & Jack[?] Wellington of Monticello Esquires on the same mode & [?] as before stated The expense of which shall be paid one half by the purchaser & the other half by the State

The timber is to be rafted a sufficient distance above the boom to facilitate its passage through and prevent choking and encumbering the passage with loose timber
