Lubec November 4, 1820.

Sir,

The subscribers, understanding that it is acceptable to the Governor for individuals to express their opinions respecting the interests of those sections of the state [three inserted above] in which they reside, take the liberty respectfully to communicate their sentiments in relation to the court of Sessions for the county of Washington. As there are now two judges of this court, one residing in the western angle & one in the north east angle of the county. It is our opinion that the whole county will be most accommodated & the feelings of its citizens [three inserted above] most gratified if only one other judge be appointed & he be selected from the south east angle of the county.

The subscribers also beg leave cordially to [one inserted above] recommend Moses Fuller Esqr as a man well qualified for the office of Justice of the sessions. He is a gentleman of respectable talents, of good education, of very fair reputation, and distinguished for independence of character. His appointment would be highly acceptable to the public. This arrangement would complete the organization of the court according to the first distribution of its officers, and at every session, would give the Judges an opportunity, respectively, of viewing and assertaining [sic] the state of all the principal roads in the county.
