[Penciled at top of page:] 6 Boyd

Portland Jany 6th 1813

William King Esqr

Dear Sir

I have attended to your Business (as Proxy) the result is generally reelection of the former Officer I find by the Clerk of the Wharf that there is $60 [underlined] Dividend up to Jany 1812 and that in a few days there probably will be a Dividend for Jany 1813 of abt. 50 [underlined] or 60 [underlined] Dollars both sums will probably be paid when you visit Portland, which I have a great desire may be as soon as you can make it convenient

I consider the present era as import [?] to the existence of Republicans in the District of Maine, and if I have any knowledge of my self I have nothing more of a temporal nature at heart than to promote and support by every honorable

means
