Sir I find that O Cook is now stryving [?] to make peace with you he has I am told got A Wood to write you take care what you [four underlined] say I think the best way is not to say any thing or at least nothing more than to answer the letter - he will pretend that if you will be his friend he will be yours but have nothing to do with him he finds he has no friends and now he wishes to make up with you but if he cant find any to halpt [?] him he would done all in his power to prevente you from having one vote lookought I am your friend you know and allways have done all I could for your good and will so do -
