"Hullo Mol. Got burnt out."

Molly's brow darkened but she answered sedately and very slowly. "Me very glad"

"Glad, to get burnt out?"

"Cause burn um Brown. Speak so Brown dont want trouble um Injun. Injun dont trouble um now. Your fence he burn too Henly."

"Yes"

"Berry glad."

"Why are you glad?"

"Cause he crooked. Great deal he trouble um our folks. Spose he straight he dont burn. Just so far he crooked he burn. So far he straight he dont burn."

"But they have got the man."

"You don't prove um. Spose you stand at corner of house, see run your eye you prove um. Spose you stand house you see um glass, you dont prove um."
