Peter Ronco called every one who could read & write "ministers" One day, he said, he took three ministers out fishing and took also "leetle peestal {pistol} whiskee" They talked with him about it "You needn't touched it" he said. But the fishing was not good and so as a solace Pete took 'drop peestal". "Got big trout. Bimeby took nother drop, got nother trout. Every drop, you see, took um trout." The ministers charmed at this simple but excellent method of procedure, were persuaded to try "peestal" themselves.

In Nov 1889 old Peter {Leusta?} Ronco died in Dexter aged over one hundred years. He was from St. Francis P.Q. and probably had some admixture of Indian blood. He was probably the father of the above {Was father of Peter W. Ranco who lives in Joe Polis's old home (1935) }

One Ronco, or Ranco, m. a Pleasant Point woman & her son m. Grace Francis dau. of Joseph Francis. In a drunken quarrel he killed another Indian {son of Big Thunder} & was sent to State Prison (perhaps 1905 or 1910 [two struck through] )

1916. Gov. Jos. Francis died & as soon as possible (1917) Grace Ranco turned her own mother out of doors & took the house Grace (Francis) Ranco d. a few years later & mother ret again, I am told
