Bill to constitute the Records of towns, plantations and School District Clerks, evidence for certain purposes was read the second time and referred to the Committee on the Judiciary. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred.

The Reports of James Hall, Engineers, on a reconnaissance for a canal from Moosehead Lake and a preliminary survey for the improvement of the navigation of Sebasticock River were taken up, and ordered on motion of Mr Benson that 1000 copies of said reports be printed for the use of the Legislature.

A message was received from the House of Representatives, that that Branch had reconsidered its vote passing to be engrossed the Bill entitled "an additional Act establishing Salaries for Judges and Registers of Probate" and had amended the ttle thereof, by striking out the words "an additional" and inserting the words "an Act additional to an and passed the same to be re-engrossed as thus amended. The Senate reconsider their vote passing said Bill to be engrossed, adopt the amendment proposed by the House and order the same re-engrossed as thus amended, in concurrence.
