A communication was received from A.R. Nichols, Secretary of the Board of Internal Improvements, submitting the Report of Col. S.M. Long, Topographical Engineer on a Reconnaissance for a Rail Road from Portland to Bangor - said report was laid upon the table and ordered, on motion of Mr Benson, that 1000 copies of the same br printed for the use of the Legislature.
The Report of the Committee, prescribing the time, place and manner of electing of Senator to Congress came up from the House amended by striking out the words "Wednesday the fifteenth" and inserting the words Tuesday the twenty first, in lieu thereof . The Senate reconsider their vote accepting said report and amend the same by striking out the words "Wednesday the fifteenth" and inserting in lieu thereof Wednesday the twenty second marked C and said report was accepted with the amendment C. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred.
