Q. A stairway from the outer entrance up is there A. Yes sir. Q. Did you hear the Dr. knock on that door one day? A. I heard a knock at the door. Q. You went to the door A. I did. Q. Whom did you find there A. Dr. Butler Q. Did you invite him in or did he go in without invitation? A. I think he stepped right in, I don't know I am not certain. I don't think he waited for an invitation. Q. Were you a new attendant at the time? A. I was. Q. Have you ever let anybody in that way before except attendants? A. No, sir. Q. Ever known anybody else to come in there A. No, sir. Q. Had you heard any scream in the ward prior to that A. I don't think I had; I don't remember of it. Q. Did the Dr. find any [ es ] [ est ] among the patients of any sort A. I think every thing was quiet. Q. And he went into the room of the lady did he? Did he stay any time?
