1079 Q. It would have to go many times a day to make all that are there out? A. If you propose to furnish them each with a horse and carriage and driver and black the drivers boots, it would. Q. Do you ever use the driver for anything else? A. Yes sir Q. When he don't have charge of driving patients out? A. It is his first duty. But he frequently does other business on the same trip. Q. Is it the rule that he shall be employed a part of the day for that and a part of the day for something else? A. My instructions from the superintendent are to have him go out with the patients, frequently receive those instructions every day, frequently receive instructions not to have him go on account of the weather. Q. Are these horses there bought exclusively for this purpose? A. I don't think they are bought exclusively for the institution. Since I have been there there has always been one pair of horses intended to be used for that purpose. Some of them have frequently been sent after the gentlemen
