1113 A.(cont.) might have more and somedays not but very few, defined upon the work we are doing. Q. I suppose when they are out in the field they are under you? A. No sir they are under the hired help. I put them at work of course, I am the head man of 4 or 5 different crews, all around seeing to them. But still they are under my charge. Q. Generally they went with the hired men. A. Yes sir Q. How much hired help did you have in haying on an average last summer? A. Some 9 or 10 Q. Is the engineer your brother? A. Yes sir Q. You have been there 15 years and seen these men out in the field, have they always been kindly treated all these years? A. Yes sir they have Q. Ever see any of them that were overworked? A. No sir I never did. We are not in the habit of overworking them. Q. I don't suppose they do much but putter round do they? A. Their work doesn't amount to much Q.
