1220 Testimony of John B. Perkins sworn By Mr. Baker Q. Where do you live? A. In Palermo Q. Your Business? A. Farming most of the time Q. Were you once an attendant at the hospital? A. Yes sir, left in 1874, was there most of the time from 1870, was gone about a year Q. Did you know Daniel Palmer? A. Yes his wife was my sister. I knew him intimately Q. Was he in the hospital while you were there? A. Yes he was there both times. Q. Did you have an eye to him, an interest in him while you were there? A. Yes I had sole charge of him the first time he was there. I looked out for him while he was there. Q. Was Daniel Palmer evere ill treated in the institution? A. No not that I know of, or ever heard of, he was treated as kindly as could be Q. Could your brother in-law while you had charge of him been inhumanly treated and exposed to suffering without you knowing it? A. I do not think he could Q. Did you see him everyday? A. I think there
